Homework Club is offered during the year at four elementary schools. Students have the opportunity to complete homework assignments, better understand their work, learn good work habits, and feel confident about their homework when they return to school the next day. FRC staff members also communicate with parents and teachers about their students' progress.
The Family Resource Center supports the Alternative to Suspensions class by providing support to parents, following up with counseling referrals, providing for basic needs, and referring families to outside agencies. The FRC also places undergraduate interns from Social Work and Human Services programs to support students in the ATS and by following up when they return to their school.
RUSD students and Mt. SAC REACH students come together for fun activities throughout the year.
Students from RUSD and Mt. SAC meet at the FRC for dinner and icebreaker activities to get acquainted. Numerous dedicated community volunteers prepared dinner and joined some of the icebreaker activities.
The Mentor project culminated in May 2018 with a trip to a recording studio. RUSD students and their Mt. SAC mentors learned about the music industry, tried musical instruments, and recorded a song together.
