Beginning in March 2018, the FRC began partnering with LA Regional Food Bank, Tzu Chi Foundation, and East Valley Community Health Center to provide monthly food distributions at Villacorta Elementary School. The Distribution takes place every second Monday of the month (except August when it is the third Monday) from noon to 1:30 p.m. Each month we serve 200-250 families in need. Families leave with 25-30 food items that combine fresh produce and pantry items. Volunteers from throughout the community join us each month as volunteers: New Millenium Lions Club, Kaiser Permanente, Rowland PTA Council, Dairy Council, Rowland Heights Women's Club, St. Jude Medical Center, Options for Learning, Assembly Majority Leader, Ian Calderon's office, State
Senator Josh Newman's office, GEM Project, WIC, Friends of the FRC, and numerous individuals who reside in the community.
In January, 2019, our collaborative partner, Rowland Heights Community Church started a food distribution every fourth Thursday of the month in partnership with LA Regional Food Bank. Flyers for each distribution are below.
We at the FRC are moved by the generous outpouring of support and kindness from our dear community. We welcome volunteers at this event! Please join us at Villacorta Elementary School the second Monday of the month (except August) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
